COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ricky Pages, a member of the Ohio State men’s lacrosse team from 2005-08, will compete in the Major League Lacrosse 2009 New Balance Championship Weekend with the Long Island Lizards. Pages and the No. 3 seed Lizards will meet No. 2 seed Toronto in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday, preceded by a game between No. 1 seed Denver and No. 4 Boston at noon. The championship game is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, with all games held at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
The Lizards’ semifinal game will be shown in syndication live on Universal Sports. Universal Sports, a partnership between NBC Sports and InterMedia Partners, is the preeminent multiplatform destination for Olympic and lifestyle sports programming available in 56 million homes. The first semifinal and championship game will be live on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com.
Pages, a defender in his first full season as a professional, was an MLL All-Star this season. He played in 11 regular-season games, scoring two goals and recording 28 groundballs.
