With the global demand for energy rising, one of the country’s oldest and most experienced transportation research centers, Ohio State’s Center for Automotive Research (CAR) is jumpstarting key research into hybrid electric and other alternative fuel vehicles. Students both lead and learn from this work which also is spawning new companies and business partners. Most recently, CAR Technologies, LLC, relocated to CAR to capitalize on the university’s electrical systems engineering expertise and Monaco electric car pioneer, Venturi, just announced its new North American subsidiary will locate near the university as well.
