COLUMBUS, Ohio – Online registration is available for Ohio State Women’s Volleyball’s winter clinics in February 2016 and a youth development program, Lil’ Spikers, from Feb. 7-March 9. Buckeye coaches and student-athletes serve as instructors.

LIL’ SPIKERS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM | Feb. 7, Feb. 24, March 9 | 4:30-6 p.m. | REGISTER ONLINE HERE
Lil Spikers is the youth development program of The Ohio State Women’s Volleyball Team. We are dedicated to developing a love for the game for those eighth grade and younger through teaching them the fundamental skills of volleyball while building mentorships with our Buckeye volleyball players. Membership includes three gatherings presented by current and former Buckeye Volleyball Athletes. Each member will also receive a Lil’ Spikers T-Shirt and are invited to attend an ice-cream and Grand Finale social.

HITTING AND BLOCKING CLINIC | Mondays (Feb. 1, 8, 15) | 4:30-6 p.m. | REGISTER ONLINE HERE
The Hitting and Blocking Clinic will feature three sessions of intense training for both hitters and blockers. This camp will enable young athletes to become more dynamic hitters and blockers by learning advanced techniques. Skill instruction from the current Buckeye staff and video analysis will be utilized throughout the clinic. Skills addressed during the advanced three-week clinic include footwork, arm swing mechanics, positional breakdown, eye-sequencing, transition offense and offensive/blocking systems. This camp is for any athlete who wants to become an elite attacker and powerful blocker.

DEFENSE AND PASSING CLINIC | Tuesdays (Feb. 2, 9, 16) | 4:30-6 p.m. | REGISTER ONLINE HERE
The Defense and Passing Clinic will feature three sessions of top-level defensive training. Skill instruction from the current Buckeye staff and video analysis will be included. We will use a variety of techniques during the course of the three-week clinic which will include proper posture and position technique, eye-sequencing, positional defense breakdown, digging, and aggressive passing. The skills addressed in this clinic will put you in a position to continually make high level plays.

ALL-SKILLS CLINIC | Wednesdays (Feb. 3, 10, 17) | 4:30-6 p.m. | REGISTER ONLINE HERE
The All-Skills Clinic will give athletes the chance to practice every skill known to volleyball with the assistance of the Buckeyes. In this three-week clinic, athletes will sharpen their skills by practicing hitting, blocking, serving, passing, digging and setting. In addition, game-play drills and playing opportunities are also included. Each clinic will include instruction and demonstration along with repetition opportunities and video analysis. Become a more skilled volleyball player with the Buckeyes.

SETTING CLINIC | Thursdays (Feb. 11, 18) | 4:30-6 p.m. | REGISTER ONLINE HERE
The Setting Clinic will feature two sessions of advanced hands-on training specific to developing your setting skill set. This clinic is ideal for all levels of volleyball experience including advanced, intermediate or beginning setters. Current Buckeye staff will be in attendance to give advanced instruction and demonstrations. This clinic will include technical training, repetitions of systems and transition offense.

We look forward to another great year of volleyball clinics in St. John Arena! Next semester the Men’s Volleyball team needs St. John from 6-9pm due to class scheduling, so we will be holding all clinics from 4:30-6pm. We realize this is not the ideal time with school and work, but hope we can make it work. Go Bucks!!
