COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomore goaltender Jeff Maund was named the CCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season today, the league office announced.

Maund stopped 55-of-56 shots in two OSU games over the weekend for a sizzling .982 save percentage. He collected his sixth career shutout against Ferris State last Thursday, making 26 saves. He then stopped 29-of-30 shots against Michigan on Saturday night, helping the Buckeyes notch a 1-1 tie against the fifth-ranked Wolverines.

Maund was also named the CCHA Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 15, Dec. 6, and Jan. 3. No other player in the CCHA has won Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, or Rookie of the Week more than twice.

Maund will lead the Buckeyes into action Friday and Saturday night when they host Western Michigan in Value City Arena (17,500).
