COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s basketball player Jessica Davenport was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday. Davenport averaged 22 points and 10.5 rebounds vs. Penn State Dec. 30 and No. 20/20 Purdue Jan. 2.

In the two game combined, Davenport shot .519 (14-of-27) from the field and .800 (16-of-20) from the free-throw line. A sophomore center from Columbus, Ohio, she also notched three assists, two blocked shots and two steals in the two conference contests.

The Buckeyes dropped a 69-62 decision at Penn State, but bounced back to beat the Boilermakers, 63-50, in Value City Arena. Davenport’s 24 points and 12 rebounds vs. Purdue was her fourth double-double of the season and her eighth career double-double.

The No. 7/9 Buckeyes play host to No. 10/10 Michigan State at 8 p.m. Thursday in Value City Arena.
