Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State junior midfield Liz Mumley (Woodbridge, Va.) was selected as a member of the 2003 Big Ten All-Tournament Team for her play against Michigan in a tight 2-1 double-overtime loss to Michigan in the opening round of the tournament Thursday night.

Mumley, who missed parts of last season because of injury, has rebounded nicely in 2003, scoring career highs in points (10), goals (3) and assists with four. Mumley has participated in all 19 matches this season, including 16 in the OSU starting lineup. A two-goal match against Wright State early in the season serves as a highlight for Mumley, who netted the game-winner in Ohio State’s 4-0 win over the Raiders. Mumley also scored a goal and assisted in another in Ohio State 4-0 win at Loyola and assisted on goals against Purdue and Indiana State

Ohio State head coach Lori Walker is proud of Mumley’s accomplishments this season.

“Liz has prevailed through some ups and downs this season,” Walker said. “Her game has really come together in the last two weeks. Her work rate, speed, and transition in the midfield crated consistent problems for Michigan. It’s rewarding to see Liz blossom and peak at the right time in our season. Liz was a difference maker for us in the tournament.”

The Buckeyes await an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament, which will be announced Monday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. and broadcast via ESPN News.
