Columbus, Ohio– The Ohio State women’s golf team opened its spring season Monday with the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. The Buckeyes play host to the three-day, 54-hole tournament at Palos Verdes Country Club. After the first 18 holes, No. 24 Ohio State sits 12th in the field of 15, with a team total of 316 (+32) on the par-71 course. Entering Day Two in first place is Pepperdine with a team total of 297.

Buckeye senior Dana Je (Orlando, Fla./Montverde Academy) led the way for the Buckeyes shooting a 77 (+6). After a slow start, Je was able to shoot even par for six-consecutive holes, good enough to earn a tie for 27th. Not far behind Je, is junior Haley Brown (Austin, Texas/Portland State), shooting a 79 for the first 18 holes, sitting tied for 40th.

Pepperdine finished atop the team and individual leaderboard with Jayvie Agojo leading the way. Agojo shot two-under par (69) during the first round, one stroke ahead of second place-finisher Adriana Zwanck of Arizona.

Competition will resume Tuesday at 9 a.m. with the second round and concludes Wednesday at 8:15 with the final 18 holes.
