COLUMBUS, Ohio – The fifth-ranked Ohio State women’s golf team posted an opening round score of 296 (+8) for fourth place following the first round Tuesday at the NCAA championships in Auburn, Ala. The event, which concludes Friday, is being held at the par 72 Grand National Lake Course (6,216 yards). Play Tuesday was halted for approximately 45 minutes because of lightning.

Oklahoma State leads the field of 24 with a mark of 288 (E), followed by Duke and UCLA in second at 289 (+1).

Ohio State senior Allison Hanna (Portland, Ore./David Douglas) leads all individuals after she posted a first-round score of 69 (-3). Junior Kristen White (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) is tied for 46th place with a mark of 75. Teammates Lindsay Knowlton (Jr., Toronto, Ontario/Havergal) and Dana Je (Fr., Orlando, Fla./Montverde Academy) are tied for 58th with first-round scores of 76 and sophomore Allyson Harvie (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) is tied for 115th with a round of 82.

The second round will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, with the Buckeyes scheduled to tee off beginning at 1:10 p.m.
