COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fans were treated to their first taste of lacrosse on Saturday, as the defending NCAA finalist Ohio State Buckeyes took the field for the first time against The Hill Academy. The game was preceded by the 2018 Buckeye Lax Fest, a fan event designed to give attendees of all ages the chance to interact with members of both the men’s and women’s teams.
The Fan Fest – which ran from 10 to 11 a.m. – included a meet and greet autograph session, bounce house, giant inflatable slide, shooting stations, fastest shot competition and other giveaways.
At noon, the Buckeyes faced off against The Hill Academy in the first of their two preseason scrimmages. Next week, Ohio State heads south to Durham, N.C. to face preseason No. 1-ranked Duke in its final preseason test before the season opener on Feb. 3 at Cleveland State. Fans of the Scarlet and Gray can see the Buckeyes in action again in Columbus on Saturday, Feb. 10 against Boston University beginning at noon inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
