The Ohio State vs. Michigan Rivalry Run 5K will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio, International City Racing, Ohio State and Michigan announced. The event will be a run for Buckeye and Wolverine fans of all ages and running levels to celebrate the 100th OSU-Michigan game and kick off the 2003 football season.

Racers will be divided into two groups at the starting line and the average time of the fastest 1,000 runners from each university will determine the winner. The university that has the most runners participate will have five seconds deducted from that school’s average time.

Festivities include a pre-race rally and a post-race festival with live entertainment. All participants will receive either a scarlet or blue T-shirt, depending on the individual’s team of choice, and gain free admittance to the post-race festival, which will offer food, refreshments and entertainment.

Race-day registration opens at 7 a.m. and closes promptly at 9 a.m., when the pre-race rally is scheduled to begin. Post-race events will begin immediately after the race and will last until 2 p.m.
