COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the final day of the 111th running of the Penn Relays Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Three Buckeyes threw in the men’s hammer, while former OSU standout Joel Brown (2000-04) claimed top honors in the men’s Olympic development 110-meter hurdles event.
Ohio State senior Bryan Duby, who won each of his four previous hammer competitions this season, took 10th in the collegiate championships event with a heave of 180 feet, 7 inches. Fellow OSU hammer throwers Lenny Jatsek and David Ebersole, both freshmen competing in their first Penn Relays, posted Top 30 finishes in the collegiate division.
On the track, Brown, a three-time All-American in his time at Ohio State, clocked a winning time of 13.52 in the Olympic development section of the 110-meter hurdles. Brown, currently a volunteer assistant sprints coach for Ohio State, competed for Team Nike in the event.
