COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team (13-1) earned a first-place finish Saturday at the Wheaton College Invitational in Norton, Mass. The Buckeyes finished with 102 points while Wheaton placed second with 86, followed by Boston University (66) and Rhode Island (48.5).

The Buckeyes swept all four routine events in solo, duet, trio and team events. Senior Victoria Bowen won the solo with a score of 94.000. Teammates Chelsea Luker and Suzanna Hyatt teamed up to win the duet competition (94.000) while Bowen, Hyatt and Lindsay Newbill claimed first place in trio (94.000).

The Ohio State team of Bowen, Chisako Ukai, Hyatt, Carly Grimshaw, Luker, Lauren Marsh, Newbill and Emiko Takyu placed first in the team event with a mark of 95.250.

The Buckeyes return to action at 1 p.m. March 1 to play host to the North Regional Championships in the varsity pool at Larkins Hall. The event will mark the final home meet of the 2003 season.
