Ohio State Sits in Tie for Eighth After 36 Holes of Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Ohio State women’s golf team moved up a spot into a tie for eighth with a 2-under 286 in the second round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational Saturday at UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. Sophomore Alex Wright carded the Buckeyes’ low round of the day with a 2-under 70 while junior Jaclyn Lee and redshirt senior Rio Watanabe each posted a 1-under 71.

Wright made four birdies en route to her third round under par in seven chances in 2017 while Lee tallied her fifth round under par with four birdies and Watanabe also rolled in a pair of birdies for her second sub-par round this season. Through two rounds, Watanabe sits at 4-under on par-5’s, tying for the second-best of any competitor in the field, while Wright has notched 27 pars, tying for the fifth-most in the field.

Junior Niki Schroeder tallied a 2-over 74 and freshman Sofia Seldemirova rounded out the Buckeye lineup with an 8-over 80.
