COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team’s game at Iowa Saturday has been rained out. The Buckeyes now head to Madison, Wis., for a doubleheader against the Badgers at noon Sunday.
Ohio State (34-18, 10-5 Big Ten) dropped a 5-2 decision at Iowa (35-17, 10-5 Big Ten) yesterday as the Hawkeyes moved up to join the Buckeyes in a third-place tie in the Big Ten standings.
“We had a disappointing performance yesterday and had hoped to have an opportunity to rebound today, but that didn’t happen,” Linda Kalafatis, Ohio State head coach, said. “We’ll give our best effort at Wisconsin tomorrow and try to right the ship. Every game in the Big Ten is critical, but especially these two tomorrow.”
Wisconsin (21-20, 5-9 Big Ten) split a two-game series with Penn State Friday and Saturday, winning the opener 3-0 but falling 3-1 to the Nittany Lions today on a three-run walk-off home run. Iowa hosts Penn State Sunday, while the two teams ahead of Ohio State and Iowa meet in Ann Arbor as league-leader Northwestern travels to defending national champion Michigan.
