Columbus, Ohio– The Ohio State men’s tennis team travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., to compete in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships this weekend. The qualifying rounds begin Thursday, while the main draw begins Saturday. The Buckeyes are sending players to compete in both the doubles and singles brackets. Both championship games will be played Tuesday, Oct. 25. The matches will be played at the University of Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center.

Devin Mullings (Jr., Freeport, Bahamas/Ft. Lauderdale Prepatory) is 1-1 during fall competition and sits atop the singles bracket as the No.1 seed. He opens play against Jarrod Epkey of Ball State Saturday. Mullings is joined by fellow Buckeyes Bryan Koniecko (Fr., Long Island, N.Y./Syosset) the No. 13 seed, the No. 24 seed Ross Wilson (Sr. Toledo, Ohio/Toledo St. Francis de Sales) and Drew Eberly (So. Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest). All three are 1-1 on the season.

Rounding out the Ohio State field is the No. 9 seed Chris Klingemann (Jr., Bradenton, Fla./Texas Tech Independent), who is 4-1, and Scott Green (Sr., North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) who also is 1-1.

Dennis Mertens (Sr., Braaschaat, Belgium/Koninkiljk) and Ty Schuab (So., Lexington, Ohio/Lexington), who are both 0-1, will be hoping to qualify for the main singles draw. They open play Thursday.

Doubles play begins Saturday and the Buckeyes will be well represented. Eberly and Mertens are the No. 9 seed, Klingemann and Mullings are the No. 8 seed. Green and Ozanne are the No. 11 seed, while Koniecko and Wilson are the No. 5 seed.
