COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six members of the Ohio State men’s tennis team are preparing to play in the Big Ten singles tournament this weekend. The event will be held on the campus of the University of Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center. Play will continue through Monday.

Devin Mullings (Sr., Freeport, Bahamas/Ft. Lauderdale Preparatory), the No. 1 seed in the tournament, will face Brett van Monsjou of Iowa Saturday. Mullings advanced to the semifinals of the 2006 ITA Midwest Regionals Oct. 23. He is 8-2 on the year.

Justin Kronauge (Fr./Fr., Dayton, Ohio/Centerville), the No. 8 seed in the tournament, will play Mak Kendall of Indiana in the first round. Kronauge advanced to the final 16 of the 2006 ITA Indoor National Championships Nov. 3 where he fell to the eventual champion Ben Kohlloeffel of UCLA. Kronauge is 2-3 on the season.

Mike O’Connell (So./Fr., Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis) is set to play Bradley Hunter of Penn State. O’Connell is 1-1 on the season. Ty Schaub (Jr./So., Lexington, Ohio/Lexington) will face the winner of one of the qualifying matches Saturday. Schaub is 0-1 this year.

Drew Eberly (Jr., Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) will face Steve Peretz of Michigan in the first round. Eberly is 3-1 on the year. Dominic Ozanne (Sr./Jr., Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) will play the No. 16 seeded Christian Bierich of Iowa. This will be Ozanne’s first match of the year. Live scoring can be found at mgoblue.com.
