COLUMBUS, Ohio– Ohio State men’s tennis player Vincent Ng (So., Broadview Heights, Ohio/University School) won the Big Ten Indoor Championship in the Nos. 7, 8 and 9 singles bracket Monday at Ann Arbor, Mich. Ng defeated Northwestern’s Russell Bennett, 7-6 (4), 6-1, in the finals.

In the tournament, Ng was the only Buckeye to reach the finals in any bracket and was one of five OSU players to reach the quarterfinals. Ng was joined in the quarterfinals by Brenton Contini (Fr., Dover, Ohio/Dover) and Ben Kirksey (Fr., Canton, Ohio/McKinley) in the Nos. 7, 8 and 9 singles and Chris Porter (Sr., Canton, Ohio/Jackson) and Phillip Metz (So., Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) in the main draw.

The Buckeyes return to action at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 when they play hots to Butler and Murray State, respectively, at the Jesse Owens West Recreational Center.
