CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Ohio State University women’s golf team recorded its low round of the weekend and the second-best final round of the tournament on Sunday, posting a 1-under 287 to strengthen the hold on third place at the Big Ten Championships. Ohio State totaled 877 strokes overall (+13) to distance itself from Wisconsin by seven strokes (+20).
Jaclyn Lee earned All-Tournament Team accolades on the strength of a Top-5 individual finish in the 83-player field. Lee rattled off rounds of 72-70-76 (+2) to tie for fifth place. She racked up 14 birdies down in the Queen City, ranking second in the competition. Fellow sophomore Niki Schroeder was the story on Sunday though, rifling home a 3-under 69 to jump up into 11th place (+4). She rolled in one of 10 eagles in the event, adding it to four birdies for the Buckeyes’ top round.
Seniors Katja Pogacar (+6) and Jessica Porvasnik (+8) reached the Top-20 as well, placing 15th and T-17th, respectively. Pogacar incrementally improved as the days past with descending scores of 75-74-73 while Porvasnik registered rounds of 75-77-72.
Zoe-Beth Brake rebounded from first round hiccup and contributed to the team tally in the final two go-arounds. She saved her best for last on Sunday, dipping down to 73 and ultimately settling in for a share of 31st place overall. Rio Watanabe was right next to her after carding 74-75-80.
