COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished sixth at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W.Va. and second among Big Ten teams to Northwestern, who won the event (298-294-292=884) by two strokes over Toledo (302-292-292=886). The Buckeyes (298-305-296=899) shared the lead with the Wildcats after a first-round 298, but fell 11 shots off the lead after scoring a 305 in round two. Chris Emanuel (So., Ottumwa, Iowa) led the tournament after the first round with an even-par 71 performance that included five birdies. Emanuel finished 13th (T) after rounds of 71-77-74=222. D.A. Points of Illinois was the medalist shooting a 1-under 212 (72-70-70).%^$

For Emanuel it was his highest finish of the season. Freshman David Wagenseller (Wilmington, Ohio) also finished with a personal best. He tied for 37th (73-81-73=227). Scott Miller (So., Middletown, Ohio), played in his second tournament of the season and finished with a season best 229 (77-73-79, T 46). %^$

The Buckeyes are next in action April 17-18 at the OSU Kepler Intercollegiate played at the Ohio State Scarlet Course. %^$
