COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team concluded the first day of competition at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational Sunday, shooting a 25-over 313 for 15th place. The tournament is being held at the par 72, 7,544-yard Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Fla.

Freshman Grant Weaver leads the squad with a 1-over 73 to sit tied for 17th. The Wooster, Ohio product had a team-best four birdies on the day. Senior Dan Charen finished with the second-best score on the squad and is tied for 51st, tallying a 5-over 77.

Also competing for the Buckeyes is senior Alex Redfield, freshman Boo Timko and junior Jamie Sindelar. Redfield carded a 9-over 81, while Timko shot a 10-over 82 and Sindelar finished with an 89.

Leading the 15-team field is top-ranked Texas with a 10-under 278 and Longhorn Jordan Spieth has a four-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard with a 7-under 65.

Round two continues Monday at Isleworth with tee times starting at 8 a.m. ET.
