COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Big Ten Conference announced Monday Ohio State field hockey sophomore defender Saskia Mueller was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. She led the Buckeyes to their first Big Ten victory of the season and 16th consecutive win over Northwestern.

The Zurich, Switzerland, native was key to Ohio State’s offensive attack as they defeated Northwestern, 4-2. Mueller scored the game-winning goal to secure the Buckeyes’ victory. She also assisted on a goal by Lauren Kruse to finish the day with a total of three points.

The award marks Ohio State’s second of the season and Mueller’s second in her Buckeye career after earning defensive player of the week honors last season.

Mueller is tied for sixth among players in the Big Ten in all games with six assists and is averaging 0.43 assists per game. She leads OSU in assists with six and is second on the team with 12 points.
