COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team will be making its 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid to the Gainesville Regional, hosted by the University of Florida. The Buckeyes were one of 32 teams to secure an at-large selection when the 64-team field was announced live on ESPN2 Sunday night.
Ohio State (34-14) is headed to the Gainesville Regional as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 seed South Florida (38-21) on Friday at 5 p.m. live on ESPNU. The No. 1 seeded Gators (50-8) and fourth-seeded Bethune-Cookman (31-24) will play at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
This will mark Ohio State’s third straight NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly. It will be her fifth as a head coach – she took Miami to the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and 2012.
