Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s cross country team finished ninth with a team score of 232 points at the Great Lakes Regional championships Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio. The women’s team sent three runners to the event, therefore did not place as a team. The championships were held on the campus of Bowling Green State University, with Wisconsin winning the men’s team title with 52 points and Michigan State wining on the women’s side with 63 points.

The men’s team, which finished third last season in the region, was led by junior John Ealy. A two time Big Ten runner of the week this season, Ealy finished 13th in a time of 31:34.29 on the 10-kilometer course. Junior Alex Bailey was second on the team coming in 28th in 31:56.11. Sophomore Jeff See finished 54th Saturday in a time of 32:32.05.

Freshman Sarah Foster was the top finisher for the women coming in 42nd on the 6K course in a time of 22:23.53. Sophomore Rachel Stichter came in 48th in the event with a time of 22:30.15 and was followed tightly by senior Melanie Price (22:38.04) finished 55th.

The men’s and women’s team will now wait to see if they are selected to head to the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 20
