COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State field hockey team celebrated the 2004 season at its annual banquet April 16 in the recruiting room at Ohio Stadium.

Junior goalie Lindsay Williams (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) was named the squad’s most valuable player by her teammates. Williams finished the season first in the Big Ten with 146 saves and saves per game (7.30). She also was tied for sixth in the league in shutouts (2) and tied for seventh in shut outs per game (.10). Williams was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament for recording two crucial saves in the final two minutes of the game against Penn State to lead the Buckeyes in a 3-2 upset.

Junior Leticia Fragapane (Mendoza, Argentina/Universidad Nacional de Cuyo) was voted the 2004 Unsung Hero by her teammates. Fragapane recorded two goals and three assists as she started all 20 games for the Buckeyes.

The Harriet B. Reynolds Scholar-Athlete Award was presented to sophomore Renee Rossi (Powell, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) for maintaining the highest cumulative grade point average on the squad.
