COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University men’s gymnastics team announced its schedule on Wednesday. The Buckeyes are set to face four of the six teams that competed for the NCAA Championship in 2018 prior to the post season.
The Buckeyes will hold their annual Scarlet and Gray Meet on November 17, and then kick off 2019 with the Alumni Exhibition on January 5 before opening their season at the Rocky Mountain Open in Colorado Springs. Last year OSU finished second at the competition.
Next up is a trip to Norman, Oklahoma to face the four-time defending national champion Oklahoma Sooners on January 26. The following weekend sees OSU head to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a Big Ten clash with Michigan. After a weekend off some of the fellas will head out west for the Winter Cup in Las Vegas on February 15 & 17.
Action resumes for the Buckeyes in March when they host the Arnold Challenge at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus on Saturday, March 2. OSU gets to stay home for the following weekend where it hosts Minnesota and Nebraska in a tri-meet in St. John Arena. A trip to Iowa City, Iowa to face the Iowa Hawkeyes is on the docket for March 16 before returning home to host Illinois for the regular season finale on March 24 in St. John Arena.
The postseason gets underway on April 5-6 as the Buckeyes compete in the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City. After that the team gets a weekend to rest up for the NCAA Qualifiers, set for April 19 in Champaign, Illinois, with the NCAA Championships set to wrap up on April 20.
