COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Department of Athletics is out to set four attendance records in three days during its “Scarlet and Gray Days” April 18-20.
The weekend begins with a Friday, April 18 baseball home date vs. Purdue at Bill Davis Stadium and continues with men’s lacrosse vs. Denver and the football spring game at Ohio Stadium Saturday, April 19. Sunday, April 20, softball takes on Penn State at Buckeye Field.
Fans have the opportunity to purchase a “Scarlet and Gray Days” all-admission pass for the four record-setting events for $10 by contacting the Ohio State athletics ticket office at 1-800-GOBUCKS. All-admission passes are limited to the first 4,000 fans.
Those who purchase all-admission passes will have the opportunity to register to win tickets to the Penn State football home game Oct. 25. By presenting their all-admission passes, fans will become eligible for separate drawings to win a pair of Penn State football tickets at both the baseball game April 18 and softball game April 20. Winning all-admission pass holders must be present at time of drawings.
Fireworks night at Bill Davis Stadium kicks off the weekend festivities at 6:35 p.m. vs. the Boilermakers as Ohio State attempts to top the venue record of 5,360, established May 18, 2002 vs. Minnesota. The Buckeyes continue the Purdue series with a doubleheader Saturday and single game Sunday. Single admission baseball tickets start at $5 general admission and are $10 reserved.
Saturday is full of action, highlighted by an Ohio Stadium doubleheader. Men’s lacrosse starts the day vs. Denver at 11 a.m., before the Scarlet meets the Gray in the annual spring football game at approximately 1:30 p.m. A $5 single admission will count for both Ohio Stadium events.
Lacrosse is out to best the national record of 52,004, set at the NCAA semifinals May 26, 2007 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Football welcomed 75,301 Buckeye fans to the spring game in 2007 after a crowd of 63,649 attended the exhibition in 2006. Ohio State has had 41-consecutive regular-season home games with crowds of more than 100,000.
Softball wraps up the record-setting weekend vs. the Nittany Lions April 20, looking to establish a Buckeye Field record of more than the 1,175 fans Ohio State welcomed vs. Cal State Fullerton, May 19, 2007. Softball admission is free.
