DUBLIN, Ohio-The Ohio State men’s golf team is in 15th place with 18 holes to play in the 2006 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The event, hosted by the Buckeyes, is being contested at the Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72, 7,159 yards), site of Jack Nicklaus’ annual Memorial Tournament.
Indiana (286-292=578) leads the field by four strokes over Northwestern (298-284=582). Marshall, Ball State and Xavier round out the Top 5. Northwestern’s second round 284 was the best of the day Saturday.
Kyle Moore of Northwestern and Seth Brandon of Indiana are tied for the individual lead. Each totaled 141, one shot ahead of Marshall’s Trent Schambach (72-70=142). Brandon’s opening round 67 was the best 18-hole score of the day.
The event, which is normally held on The OSU Scarlet Course, is in its 36th year. The tournament was moved this year while renovations are completed to the Scarlet Course.
