COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8 Ohio State women’s golf team posted an opening round score of 297 (+9) for third place Friday at the Tar Heel Invitational. The event is being held at the par 72 Finley Golf Course (6,181 yards) in Chapel Hill, N.C. and hosted by the University of North Carolina.

Duke leads the field of 15 with a score of 290 (+2) while the Tar Heels are in second place at 296 (+8).

Ohio State sophomore Kristen White (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) shot a 71 (-1) to lead the Buckeyes in a tie for fifth place. Allison Hanna (Jr., Portland, Ore./David Douglas) stands in a tie for 11th place (73) while Lindsay Knowlton (So., Toronto, Ont./Havergal) is tied for 26th (76).

Duke’s Liz Janangelo shot five-under (67) to top the individual leaderboard.

The second round continues at 9:30 a.m. Saturday while the final round is scheduled with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sunday.
