COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the No. 13 Michigan State Spartans, 3-1 at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

%^$”Any win in this conference is a great win,” head coach Anne Wilkinson said. “It was nice to see our team bounce back after Friday’s loss.”

%^$The Buckeyes took an early 1-0 lead with 24:52 remaining in the first half. Katie Hobson (Jr., Norristown, Pa.) fired a ball pass MSU goalkeeper Mirelle Evans on a penalty shot. %^$ %^$The Spartans tied the game with 5:43 left in the first half. Sanne van Nouhuys connected with Bridget Cooper to tie the game at one. But the MSU offense remained silent the remainder of the game.

%^$With 22:20 remaining in the game, Jayne Landis (Sr., Telford, Pa.) scored on a perfect lob pass from Diana Kuser (So., Barto, Pa.) to give OSU its second lead of the afternoon.

%^$Five minutes later, the Buckeyes added an insurance goal when Deanna Menichini (Sr., Newtown Square, Pa.) fired a ball from the right side of the circle to give OSU a 3-1 lead.

%^$On Sunday, Oct. 10, OSU travels to University Park, Pa., to face Penn State at 1 p.m. %^$
