COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-3 overall, 2-3 in the Big Ten) lost to the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions (12-2 overall, 4-1 in Big Ten), 2-1 in State College, Pa.

The Nittany Lions scored first when Traci Anselmo scored on a direct corner. PSU increased its lead 2-0 with 18:55 remaining in the game with a goal from Tracey Larson.

Ohio State avoided the shutout when Katie Hobson (Jr., Norristown, Pa.) scored off a pass from Marije van Nouhuys (So., New Lyceum, Netherlands). It was the only shot on goal for OSU the entire game.

Goalkeeper Gillian Batey (Fr., Victoria, British Columbia) recorded 19 saves, a new record for saves by a Penn State opponents.

On Friday, the Buckeyes return home for a game against Iowa at 3 p.m.
