COLUMBUS, Ohio – %^$The No. 25 Ohio State women’s tennis team posted its fourth-consecutive Big Ten victory, defeating Purdue, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Stickney Tennis Center. Ohio State moved to 13-6 overall, 6-1 in the Big Ten, with the victory. The six conference wins tie the program record for most Big Ten victories in a season and the Buckeyes remain unbeaten at home (10-0). The Boilermakers fell to 8-11 overall, 2-5 Big Ten.%^$

%^$ The Buckeyes started the day by claiming the doubles point with two wins. The No. 43-ranked duo of Kristy Dascoli (Jr., Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Academy) and Monica Rincon (So., Lapeer, Mich./Lapeer West) put together a win over the No. 19-ranked duo of Jennifer Embry and Shannon Taheny, 8-4, at No. 1. Sadhaf Pervez (Fr., Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) and Laura Maloney (Jr., Barrington, Ill.) won at No. 2 over Laura Walgenbach and Lynsey Fick, while Purdue’s Melissa Iqbal and Erika Quebe defeated Claudia Castro (So., Dublin, Ohio/Aquinas) and Michelle Matko (So., Aurora, Ill./Aurora West), 8-4, at No. 3.%^$

%^$ Ohio State won at the top four singles spots to clinch the victory. Dascoli, Rincon and Pervez each won in two sets, while Matko posted a three-set victory over Iqbal at No. 3.%^$

%^$ The Buckeyes will play their last home match of the season tomorrow when they take on Indiana at 10 a.m. at the Stickney Tennis Center.%^$
