Four Buckeyes in top 5 heading into final round of play Sunday on Scarlet Course
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Competing under sunny skies but battling gusty winds, the 21st-ranked Ohio State women’s golf team holds the top spot after 36 holes Saturday at its own Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus. The Buckeyes built a nine shot lead on their own par 72, 6,275-yard Scarlet Course over Northwestern in second and are 16 strokes ahead of third-place No. 10 Michigan State.
The third and final round of play will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Admission to The OSU Golf Club is free for spectators.
Ohio State quickly moved into the lead in the first round with a team score of 304, but had a tougher time in the afternoon with a sum of 311. The Wildcats were within striking distance and briefly took the lead in round two, but the Buckeyes took advantage of playing on their home course to regain the lead and increase their margin once again.
Heading into the final round, Kelsey Lindenschmidt of Northwestern sits atop the individual scoreboard at 151, but four Buckeyes are within striking distance.
Just a stroke behind Lindenschmidt is Buckeye freshman Rachel Rohanna. The Waynesburg, Pa., native opened with a 75 and added a 77 in round two to sit in second with a total of 152. She tallied four birdies during the day, with three of them coming on par 3s including twice on No. 13.

Also tying for fifth is senior Emma Jandel with reversed rounds of 76-79. The team captain from Dayton ranks second in the field in pars with 24 after making par on 15 holes in her first round.
Improving by two strokes in the afternoon, sophomore Vicky Villanueva added a 79 to her first-round score of 81 to total 160 and tie for 16th. Freshman Amy Meier rounds out the Buckeye lineup with back-to-back rounds of 81 to tie for 26th.
