My Gameday – Austin Pooley

Austin Pooley, from Dublin, Ohio, is a freshman forward on the No. 5/4-ranked Ohio State men’s hockey team. He has played in all 37 games this year, tying for the most games played by a Big Ten freshman, with two goals and three assists for five points. His father, Perry, and uncle, Paul, both were All-Americans and Academic All-Americans for the Buckeyes in the 1980s.

Pooley and the Buckeyes advanced to the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game with a series sweep of Michigan State (including a game two overtime victory) and an overtime win over Michigan. The No. 2 seed Buckeyes will play No. 1 Notre Dame at 8 p.m. Saturday in the title game, televised by BTN. Ohio State is looking for its first Big Ten Tournament title.
