PARK RIDGE, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference office announced on Monday the second weekly men’s indoor track and field awards for meets through January 11-17. Ohio State’s Thomas Murdaugh earned a share of the weekly track laurel for the second straight week along with Ryan Foster of Penn State. Meanwhile, Michigan State’s Kyron Foster set a school record in the triple jump to garner Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Sophomore Thomas Murdaugh posted two meet records en route to a pair of top finishes in leading Ohio State to a 92-70 victory in the Dual meet over Michigan on Saturday. Murdaugh was dominant once again in the 400-meter event, finishing in first-place with an NCAA provisional time of 46.58 – the second-best time in the NCAA this season. The reigning Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week sealed the Buckeye victory by anchoring the 4×400-meter relay team to first place and an NCAA provisional time of 3:12.60. The mark bested the Wolverines by five seconds and is the fastest of any Big Ten mile relay team so far this season. This is the second weekly award for Murdaugh’s career.
