EUGENE, Ore. — Distance runners Jeff See and Daniel White competed under the lights late Saturday at the Oregon Twilight meet at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., their final runs before next weekend’s Big Ten championships in Columbus.
For the second-consecutive weekend, See ran a regional qualifying time, this time in the 1500m. See finished third with a time of 3:44.88, right behind cross country All-American Mark Steeds of Georgia State (3:44.01) and Ian Cronin from Eugene Running Company (3:44.09). See also ran a regional time last weekend in the mile at the Jesse Owens Classic in a time of 4:04.95.
White ran a PR and a regional qualifying time of 1:49.42 in the 800m to finish seventh. Kevin Hicks of OTC Elite was first with a time of 1:47.63
“Dan ran a great race and I am even more convinced he can run 1:48,” head coach Robert Gary said. “Jeff continues to race himself back into shape after missing time and I still think he will get it down to 3:37 this summer. I know both are very excited for the conference meet and are looking forward to a special weekend.”
The Big Ten championships will be held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus May 15-17. Click the link above for more information.
