COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s lacrosse redshirt-freshman goalie Mike Rimmer has been named the Great Western Lacrosse League Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. Rimmer helped lead the Buckeyes to a come-from-behind upset win over No. 10/11 Army, 8-7, last week in OSU’s regular-season finale.

Rimmer, a Melville, N.Y., native and Half Hollow Hills East product, made 13 saves in OSU’s victory over the Black Knights. He stopped all nine shots he faced in the third quarter, part of a 30-plus minute stretch OSU kept Army off the board. The Buckeyes shut out the Black Knights from the 13:20 mark of the second quarter until the 12:44 mark of the fourth. Rimmer and the Buckeyes also held Army scoreless on all three man-up chances in the game, including a chance with 4:20 left and OSU holding a one-goal lead. Rimmer also had a team-best six groundballs in the game.
