Dublin, Ohio, native will tee off for his second round Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. (CT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michael Cress, a junior on the Ohio State men’s golf team, shot a 5-over 75 Monday during the first round of stroke play at the 109th U.S. Amateur. Cress had 14 pars, three bogeys and one double-bogey on the sprawling 7,290-yard Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow, Okla.

The Dublin, Ohio, native was only 2-over after 13 holes before playing his last five holes 3-over par. Cress tees off No. 1 at Southern Hills Country Club Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. (CT).
