Mewhort was often cited by coach Urban Meyer as one of the best players on Ohio State’s prolific, record-setting offense this past season. He was named a first-team All-American this past season by ESPN.com, a second-team All-American by Walter Camp, Sports Illustrated and the Football Writers Association of America, and a third-team Associated Press All-American.

Powered in 2013 by Mewhort and an offensive line that featured three other senior starters – all who have graduated from Ohio State, Ohio State’s offense ranked fifth nationally in rushing (308.6 yards per game) and shattered school records for points scored (637), touchdowns (87) and touchdown passes (38), plus scored the third-most rushing touchdowns in school history (45).

It’s been a good spring so far for Mewhort. The Toledo native and graduate of St. John’s Jesuit has been named one of the official captains of the 2013 team, he’s graduated from Ohio State with his degree in consumer and family resource financial services, and now he’s a second-round draft pick into the National Football League.
