COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s volleyball head coach Pete Hanson has announced the signing of two student-athletes in Tyler Stevens and Mike Westendorf to national letters of intent for the 2006 season. Stevens is a 6-5 outside hitter from Miami, Fla. He is attending Westminster High School and plays for the South Florida Volleyball Club. Stevens was a member of the 2004 Youth National Team and was a first-team All-County selection. Westendorf is a 6-6 middle blocker from Elmhurst, Ill. He attends York Community High School and plays for the Sports Performance Volleyball Club.

Ohio State finished the 2005 season with a 24-8 overall record and was 14-2 in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association finishing second in regular season league play. The Buckeyes won the MIVA Tournament Championship, advancing the NCAA Championship semifinals where they lost to eventual NCAA Champion Pepperdine. OSU finished the season ranked ninth in the final AVCA Coaches Poll.
