COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State outside hitter Pieter Olree (Sr., Reading, Pa./Exeter H.S.) has been selected as the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week. This marks the fourth time, this season, Olree has been honored as the MIVA Player of the Week. The 6-6 Buckeye had an outstanding weekend as Ohio State went 3-0 in conference matches.

Olree had 14 kills and hit .550 in a 3-0 (30-17, 30-23, 30-19) win at Findlay, adding four digs, two assist blocks and an ace serve. In the 3-0 (30-18, 30-21, 30-24) win over Indiana-Purdue, Olree had 18 kills, hit .696 and added three assist blocks, three digs and two aces. Against Mercyhurst, in a 3-0 (30-25, 30-21, 30-21) win, Olree had 24 kills (including 12 kills in 13 attempts in game three), hit .700 and added four digs and an ace serves. For the nine games, Olree averaged 6.22 kills per game on 56 kills and hit .658. He collected 11 digs (1.22 per game), five blocks (.56) and four aces (.22).

Ohio State finished the regular season with an 18-10 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association to finish in third place. The Buckeyes will host a quarterfinal match of the MIVA Tournament at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 20 against an opponent to be named on Tuesday.
