COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s volleyball team dropped a four-game decision to Penn State Saturday night in Rec Hall. The 32-30, 23-30, 22-30, 24-30 Buckeye loss evened OSU’s record at 1-1 and made Penn State 1-0. OSU’s Greg Lehman (Sr., Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut H.S.) had a team-high 17 kills with Chris Fash (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Lockport Township H.S.) adding 16 and Pieter Olree (Sr., Reading, Pa./Exeter H.S.) 13. Nittany Lion Zeljko Koljesar had a match-high 19 kills with 16 from John Mills and 13 from Zach Slenker.
Ohio State hit .531 in game to capture a 32-30 win. Penn State hit .481 for that game. In the final three games, the Buckeyes hit a combined .149, dripping 30-23, 30-22, and 30-24 games to Penn State.
For the match Penn State hit .446 to .252 for Ohio State. The Nittany Lions had a five to three advantage in ace serves and outblocked the Buckeyes 11.5 to eight. The Buckeyes edged Penn State 31-30 in digs.
Ohio State plays host to Juniata in St. John Arena Saturday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
