COLUMBUS, OHIO – Junior outside hitter Chris Fash (Lockport, Ill.) was selected the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week for his play in OSU’s 3-0 (15-7, 15-11, 15-7) win over No. 10 Lewis which gave the Buckeyes the MIVA Championship outright.

Fash had 23 kills in the match while hitting .563. He also had six digs and five assist blocks in the seventh-consecutive win for fifth-ranked Ohio State (21-3 overall, 13-1 MIVA). The 23-kill effort was the 20th double-figure kill match for Fash and his sixth hitting .500 or better.

Fash is hitting .516 in the last seven matches and has averaged 6.48 kills per game during that time.

Ohio State faces Clarke College (8-18, 0-14) in the quarterfinals of the MIVA Tournament at 7 p.m. Saturday night in St. John Arena.
