COLUMBUS, Ohio- – Ohio State senior Jeremy Wurtzman (Sr., Rochester, N.Y./Brickhouse Academy), the No. 5 seed of the tournament, advanced to the second round of the National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Thursday in Ann Arbor, Mich. Wurtzman defeated Vanderbilt’s Chad Harris, 6-4, 6-2, in the first round. The win marked Wurtzman’s 100th career singles victory. Wurtzman is matched against Texas A&M’s Ante Matijevic in second round action Friday.

The National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships features the Top 32 players in the country. Wurtzman, ranked No. 20 in the nation (Sept. 3 preseason polls), recently captured the 2003 Midwest Regional singles crown (Oct. 28). He became the first Buckeye in program history to claim the title.

Wurtzman is 10-1 in tournament action this season and holds a 100-41 career singles mark.
