COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 26 Ohio State men’s tennis team (19-8, 10-3 Big Ten) received its sixth-consecutive bid to the NCAA Championship Wednesday. The Buckeyes will face Brown in the first round May 14 in Knoxville, Tenn. The winner in round one will play either the No. 10 seed Tennessee or East Tennessee State for a chance to advance to the Round of 16.

The Buckeyes, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Ty Tucker, will be playing in the event for the sixth-consecutive season. Ohio State has made all of its appearances in the NCAA event with Tucker as the head coach. The Buckeyes are 7-5 in NCAA team tournament play.

Last season at the NCAA tournament, the Buckeye squad advanced to the quarterfinal round and fell to Baylor, the eventual national champion. That marked the first NCAA quarterfinal appearance for Ohio State in program history. In the final ITA Division I team poll, the Buckeyes finished No. 12 in the country.

Ohio State, ranked No. 26 in the ITA team poll, is 19-8 overall after the squad finished the Big Ten season with a 10-3 record. The Buckeyes lost to No. 5 Illinois, once during the regular conference season and then most recently in the championship match of the Big Ten tournament. OSU also suffered a 5-2 loss to Northwestern April 24 in regular season league play.
