COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five members of the Ohio State men’s tennis team were in action Saturday at the Big Ten singles tournament with three Buckeyes advancing to the second round. The event is held on the campus of the University of Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center. Play will continue through Monday.

Justin Kronauge (Fr., Dayton, Ohio/Centerville), the No. 8 seed in the tournament, defeated Mak Kendall of Indiana 6-0, 6-2 in the first round. Kronauge is 3-3 on the season.

Drew Eberly (Jr., Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) beat A. Sanborn of Northwestern 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-0 in the first round. Eberly is 4-1 on the year. Dominic Ozanne (Jr., Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) earned his first win of the year after he beat the No. 16 seed Christian Bierich of Iowa 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.

Mike O’Connell (Fr., Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis) fell to Bradley Hunter of Penn State 6-4, 6-4. O’Connell is 1-2 on the season. Ty Schaub (So., Lexington, Ohio/Lexington) lost to George Navas of Michigan 6-3, 6-3. Schaub is 0-2 this year.
