COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s swimming and diving team (7-0) opened the winter portion of its schedule with a 149-89 win over Ball State, Friday, at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center.

The Buckeyes won 10 of 13 events en route to the win. Travis Carter (Jr., Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley) was a double-winner for OSU, winning the 100 freestyle (:46.04) and the 200 freestyle (1:41.07). Other winners included Brian Malich (Sr., Mason, Ohio/El Dorado Calif.) in the 50 freestyle (:20.71) and Nick Rees (So., Nassau, Bahamas) in the 100 butterfly (:49.39). Malich and Rees, along with Daniel Kelley (Sr., Columbus, Ohio/Beechcroft) and Ivan Petrovic (Jr., Zagreb, Crotia), also won the 200 medley relay.

On the boards, Ryan Fillman (Sr., Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) swept both events, scoring 212.30 on the one-meter dive and 217.00 on the three-meter.

The Buckeyes play host to Indiana Saturday, 1 p.m. in a co-ed meet at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center.
