The Ohio State men’s soccer team fell to the No. 1 ranked Indiana at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind ., 2-1. The victory for Indiana secures the regular-season Big Ten Championship title and a first seed in the Big Ten tournament. The Buckeyes’ record drops to 10-5-0 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten.

%^$The Hoosiers scored their two goals during the first half. IU’s first goal came from B.J. Snow at 24:22 off a pass from Ryan Mack. IU’s second goal came from the team’s leading scorer, Aleksey Korol, off a pass from Matt Fundenberger and Yuri Lavrinenko.

%^$The Buckeyes scored in the second half to tighten the score to 2-1 in the 69th minute but came up short in the end. The goal came from Joshua Rathweg (Jr, Spring, Texas) off a pass from Brooks Humphreys (Jr., Spring, Texas). Rathweg’s goal was a well taken shot that went right past IU’s goalkeeper Doug Warren. The Buckeyes held the Hoosiers scoreless in the second half.

%^$The Big Ten regular season comes to a close and the Buckeyes will play three more games before they head to East Lansing, Mich. for the Big Ten Tournament set for Nov. 12-14, 1999.

%^$The Buckeyes will travel to Miami, Fla. to play at the Florida International Tournament this weekend. On Friday at 5 p.m., OSU will face James Madison and Saturday at 3 p.m. , the Buckeyes will take on Florida International. %^$
