COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tickets for the Ohio State men’s lacrosse 2010 season will go on sale at 10 a.m. TODAY (Wednesday). The Buckeyes will host seven games in Columbus in three venues, playing indoors in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and outdoors at both Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and Ohio Stadium.

For all regular-season games except the “Showdown in the Shoe” April 24 vs. Air Force, single-game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and youth. Ohio State students are admitted free with a BuckID, with children 6 and under also free.

Tickets for groups of 10 or more are $2 each and must be purchased in advance. For more information, contact Mike Johnson in the group sales office at 614-247-1984. Group tickets are not available to purchase online.

The third-annual “Showdown in the Shoe” features the Buckeyes taking on ECAC school Air Force in Ohio Stadium at 11 a.m. April 24 prior to the Buckeye football team’s spring game. The event has set national lacrosse attendance records the past two years, with 30,192 in attendance at halftime last season. Advance tickets for the game are $5 each, with children 6 and under admitted free. Tickets for groups of 50 or more are $4 each and must be purchased in advance. On game day all tickets will be $10 (cash only). All seating is general admission and tickets include both the men’s lacrosse game vs. Air Force and the football spring game.

The Buckeyes’ first three games are scheduled to be played indoors in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Seating is limited at the indoor field, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee a spot. The squad opens its season with home game against 2009 NCAA tournament team Villanova Feb. 13. After a road game, the Buckeyes will return home for back-to-back games starting against Massachusetts, another NCAA tournament squad last season, Feb. 27. Ohio State and Penn State, the only Big Ten schools to sponsor men’s lacrosse, will meet March 6 for the unofficial “Big Ten Championship.”

The team is slated to host Albany March 13 in the first meeting between the schools and Denver April 17 outdoors in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. (Note the date for the game vs. Albany has been changed from earlier schedules.) The game against the Pioneers marks the first conference home game for the Buckeyes as members of the ECAC Lacrosse League. The regular-season campaign wraps up with a conference game against league-foe Bellarmine in Ohio Stadium May 1, where the squad’s seniors will be honored.
