COLUMBUS, Ohio -The Great Western Lacrosse League announced its all-league team today and two Buckeyes, along with head coach Joe Breschi took home honors. Breschi, in his second season at the helm of Ohio State lacrosse, was the 1999 GWLL Coach of the Year. He lead the Buckeyes to a 10-3 season, its best mark in ten years, and its first ever GWLL conference championship.

Midfielder Greg Zytkowski (Jr., North Olmstead, Ohio) earned his second straight all-GWLL spot. For the 1999 campaign, he had 21 points (9goals, 12 assists) and scooped up 30 ground balls. Known for his deft passing skills and acrobatic goals, he will be one of the top players in the GWLL next season.

Mike Abeles (Jr., Westfield, N.J.) earned the nod as the top goalie in the league, bringing him his first all-GWLL selection. One of the best in college lacrosse, Abeles was among the national leaders all season in save percentage and goals against average. He finished with 187 saves, a 63.2% save percentage, and a staunch 8.79 goals against average. Butlers Cory Kahoun earned Player of the Year honors. Butler lead the way with five players on the all-GWLL team while Notre Dame landed three players on the 1999 squad.
