Columbus, Ohio – Five Ohio State men’s gymnasts were named All-America Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association, the CGA announced.
Three Buckeyes earned first team All-America Scholar-Athlete honors – Jake Bateman (So., Kingsport, Tenn.), Anthony Duong (Jr., Newark, Del.) and Kristopher Kline (Sr., Westerville, Ohio). Second-team honors went to Jimmy Wickham (Jr., Gulfport, Miss.) and Mike Marino (Jr., Ellington, Conn.). Gymnasts with a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher earned first-team honors, while second-team accolades were given to gymnasts with GPAs between 3.2 and 3.499. Nationally, 55 gymnasts earned first-team accolades and 56 received second-team honors.
In addition, the Ohio State team was honored for ranking ninth nationally in team grade-point average.
